Paul Ryan Responds to Mueller's Indictments: 'Nothing Will Derail Tax Cuts'
House Speaker Paul Ryan really only cares about one thing: tax reform (or lack thereof). As long as his proposed tax reform bill gets signed, it doesn’t really matter who is doing the signing. Right now, that person is President Trump, but any Republican would honestly work in his place. So, of course, it only makes sense that Ryan would brush off special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictments as a sideshow to the real problem gripping DC: tax cuts, baby!
On Monday morning, Ryan appeared on WTAQ’s The Jerry Bader Show, a public radio station based in Wisconsin. When he was asked about the indictments he made it abundantly clear that nothing, not even the arrest of President Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, could distract him from tax reform.
