Taraji P. Henson's New Movie Looks So Trashy but Also Like Maybe the Best Movie of the Year?

Apparently, the film is about an assassin who meets a young boy who, according to IMDb, “sparks her maternal instinct,” although the trailer is pretty much dedicated to the assassin part. In it, we see Henson getting ready (makeup, leather stiletto boots, leather jacket, murdery leather gloves, silencer, blonde wig and all) and then a series of shots of people loading guns, pointing them, shooting them, some cars driving, and a quick hello from Danny Glover as he ducks for cover.

I’m just going to posit a theory that Proud Mary is a actually a prequel to Smokin’ Aces and Taraji has reprised her role as sniper Sharice, before Alicia Keys’ Georgia walked in and ruined her life. Oh, I’m the only one that watched Smokin’ Aces? Cool. Anyway, while the Proud Mary trailer leaves us guessing, I’m very excited for an action movie led by a black woman. Also it’s honestly far better and healthier an option than the other big new trailer that dropped today.
