But Ayers said no—he couldn’t honor Trump’s requested commitment of two years, according to Axios. Ayers says he’s leaving the White House at the end of the year himself, reportedly to go run the pro-Trump super-PAC America First.
So, who will be replacing Kelly in a few short weeks? We have no idea, and neither, it seems, does Trump.
Axios reports that one name the president is considering is Rep. Mark Meadows, who heads the ghoulish, hyper-conservative House Freedom Caucus. According to Bloomberg, other candidates include U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, budget director Mick Mulvaney, and Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker (yes, the patent scam company guy).
Trump says there will be a replacement announced by the end of the year. Whichever one of these goons ends taking Kelly’s spot (who, by the way, was awful), we look forward to seeing how their unique brand of evil mingles with the rest of Trump’s dwindling cast of idiots.
