Don Lemon Is Getting Very Good at Not Giving a Shit

CNN anchor Don Lemon’s professional growth from robot-dancing doofus to not-giving-a-fuck truth teller has been a pleasure to watch. That streak continued on Wednesday, when Lemon—fresh off correctly pointing out that “the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right” the night before—responded to critics with, as he put it, “cold, hard facts.”

“The evidence is overwhelming,” Lemon explained, before launching into a series of well-cited studies, each of which pointed to the inescapable conclusion that right-wing domestic terrorism is the predominant danger to the United States today.

“People who are angered about what I said are missing the entire point,” Lemon said. “We don’t need to worry about people who are thousands of miles away. The biggest threats are homegrown. The facts prove that.”

Lemon’s monologue is hardly surprising to anyone who actually, y’know, pays even the slightest attention to the world in which we live. Nevertheless, his increasing willingness to respond to increasingly unhinged attacks—from, say, Donald Trump Jr., who called him a “moron” and “disgusting” over his earlier remarks—is extremely refreshing.
