Donald Trump Pretends Like He Cares About Nepotism All of a Sudden

UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s announcement that she will step down at the end of the year STUNNED the political world on Tuesday, with people working themselves into a lather trying to figure out WHY. The other question of the day: Who will take her place?

There are lots of names going around, but according to President Trump, it’s very likely, probably not, don’t hold him to this, not going to be his eldest daughter and White House adviser Ivanka, as he’s quite concerned all of a sudden about “nepotism.”

According to the White House press corps pool report, reporters asked Trump about potential successors to Haley. He offered up Dina Powell, an executive at Goldman Sachs who served as Trump’s deputy national security advisor, but also:

POTUS said Ivanka Trump would be wonderful, but doesn’t want to be accused of nepotism.

Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs quoted Trump as saying there could scarcely be anyone “more competent” than his daughter, whom he has repeatedly hired to work at his right hand.

I could see it. Why not? We already dine each night in hell. At least that would be something to distract from from all the pundits bending over backwards to attribute lofty moralistic meaning to Haley’s move.
