Farting, dildo-brandishing protesters upstage University of Texas 'mock mass shooting'

It’s been a banner year for dildos in the great American gun debate. Last week, the founder of MetaFilter began his one-man crusade to Photoshop dildos into pictures of GOP presidential candidates holding guns. Over the weekend, the dildo-as-political-tool trend continued in the one state where it makes the most sense: Texas.

Borrowing a page out of Jessica Jin’s #CocksNotGlocks protesting handbook, a group of about 100 concerned Texans took to the streets in counter-protest of a “mock mass shooting” staged by Come and Take It Texas and DontComply.com, two pro-gun groups.

“Texas farts,” the protestors cried, dildos in hand and fart-machines blaring. “We fart in your general direction!”


The demonstration was organized by Andrew Dobbs, a University of Texas alumnus fed up with what he perceives as gun rights’ activists habit of fear-mongering.

“I choose to believe that fear is not the solution to the threat of our time,” Dobbs told the Houston Chronicle. “That laughing in the face of fear is a courageous act and toting a gun around everywhere you go, maybe not so much.”

He continued, “When you come to my community, to the university that I love, and you threaten the lives of my friends, what I have to say is, I’m going to fart in your face!”
