Speaking with reporters following a CIA briefing to select senators regarding Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s involvement in the assassination of journalist and U.S. resident Jamal Khashoggi, Sen. Lindsey Graham accidentally gave us a rare moment of political honesty (emphasis mine):

I have great respect for [Secretary of State Mike Pompeo & Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis]. I would imagine if they were in a Democratic administration, I would be all over them for being in the pocket of Saudi Arabia. But since I have such respect for them I’m going to assume they’re being good soldiers.

Saying the quiet part awfully loud, aren’t you?
