Useless Democratic “Leader” Hakeem Jeffries Should Resign Along with these 17 Democratic Trump Allies

It hasn’t even been two months with the second Trump administration, but I can already comfortably say that we are living under the worst president since Andrew Johnson tried to restart the Civil War, as well as the most feckless and useless group of alleged liberals to ever exist. We are building an ongoing list of Democratic Trump allies here at Splinter, like these 12 from last week who have declared themselves unfit to fight this fight, and we have another 17 to add to the “primary these assholes” list, along with a repeat offender from last week and many from before.

The Constitution is unquestionably not in effect, as Trump and his unelected ketamine bro Elon Musk have usurped the power of the legislative branch while threatening the judicial branch that they’re next, all while doing classic fascist things like kidnapping and disappearing a man who didn’t commit a crime. Meanwhile, here is what Hakeem Jeffries, House Democratic “leader,” wrote in response to Trump’s arrest of Mahmoud Khalil:

Mahmoud Khalil is a legal permanent resident whose wife, an American citizen, is eight months pregnant. To the extent his actions were inconsistent with Columbia University policy and created an unacceptable hostile academic environment for Jewish students and others, there is a serious university disciplinary process that can handle the matter.

Jeffries went on to point out that “absent evidence of a crime,” Trump’s actions “are wildly inconsistent with the United States Constitution,” but that ‘to be certain’ kind of sentence coming after a tacit endorsement of Trump’s pro-Palestinian thought crimes is genuinely shocking in its cowardice and depravity. This statement from Hakeem Jeffries is beyond shameful, and no opposition “leader” with any kind of backbone or moral fiber would ever lend any kind of credence to such a blatantly fascist action like this. It just goes to show you how dedicated the Democratic Party is to being wildly out of touch with its base in order to take the Likud lobby’s money, and this dark ordeal is yet another example of how Donald Trump knows these cowardly Democrats better than the Democrats will ever know themselves.

NEW: White House says the arrest and deportation of student activist & legal US resident, Mahmoud Khalil, is a blueprint for more.

The final line here is chilling. The White House specifically says Khalil was not breaking the law.

No evidence, no due process, no crime. He was just disappeared.

Many Democrats would love for nothing more than to just keep sending out fundraising e-mails begging their constituents who hate their guts for money so they can supposedly oppose Trump, all while voting for Trump’s nominees to staff his criminal enterprise, but this is an emergency. They are legislators on the front lines of this fight, and there are things they could do to slow it way down, like objecting to unanimous consent in the Senate, but Democrats don’t in favor of lying to your face about it. Just yesterday, the day after the fascists disappeared Mahmoud Khalil, 17 Democrats decided that they wanted to publicly voice their approval in the history books for Trump’s takeover by voting for Lori Chavez-DeRember as labor secretary.

These 17 Democrats have literally signed their names to Trump’s agenda, and they should be treated as such in future Democratic primaries for whatever office they run for next: Michael Bennet, Catherine Cortez Masto, Reuben Gallego, Maggie Hassan, John Hickenlooper, Tim Kaine, Mark Kelly, Amy Klobuchar, Jon Ossoff, Gary Peters, Jacky Rosen, Adam Schiff, Jeanne Shaheen, Elissa Slotkin, Mark Warner, Raphael Warnock and Sheldon Whitehouse. These people had their basic Congressional powers they worked their entire lives to attain illegally stripped from them overnight by Trump and Elon Musk, and yet, they continue to endorse our dear leaders to this very day. How pathetic.

I do not know how you can wake up every day in the so-called opposition party and vote for Trump’s administration in the midst of the largest Constitutional crisis since the Civil War, but many of these Senators like Colorado’s less than useless duo of Bennet and Hickenlooper have been doing just that throughout this whole process. For most of these 17 Senate Democrats, this isn’t one vote to criticize them over, this is one of many like it. These empty suits obviously will never resign because the Dems are a fundraising group at their core and grifting their constituents is their primary job, but if any of these people want to prove to the rest of humanity that they have a sense of morality or shame, they should resign so that someone actually equipped to fight this fight can take their spot. The Republicans couldn’t ask for better “enemies” than Jeffries and these 17 Trumpers on the left.
