Democrats Must Purge Republicans from their Ranks, Start with These Twelve Assholes

At the start of this shitshow, I wrote how we should primary Democrats who support Trump (idiosyncratic swing districts on hyper-specific issues with local ramifications excepted), and now we are building a target list for the next set of elections. There are ten “Democrats” in the House who have now publicly stated (and an eleventh who tacitly did) that Rep. Al Green speaking out against Trump in a formal setting is beyond the pale for their vision of the party, something that every Republican in the House agreed with them on.

So, by the transitive property, these ten “Democrats” who voted to censure Rep. Al Green should be primaried out of the party for voting like the Republicans they clearly wish they were registered as. These ten Democrats have joined people like my home state Senators Michael Bennett and John Hickenlooper who have enthusiastically voted to enable Trump’s agenda, and that should be the headline in every story about them going forward as they pretend to be something they are not. In these times where the constitution is no longer in effect, anyone not opposing Trump and Musk’s takeover is functionally aiding it. If you’re going further than that and actually voting to defend dear leader, definitionally, you are part of the cult, like these ten people.

Here’s the full list of Dems who voted to censure Green:

Ami Bera (D +7)

Ed Case (D +14)

Jim Costa (D +9)

Laura Gillen (D +5)

Jim Himes (D +13)

Chrissy Houlahan (D +5)

Marcy Kaptur (R +3)

Jared Moskowitz (D +1)

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (R +5)

Tom Suozzi (D +2)

There is a shadow eleventh vote here, and it’s the man whose job it is to whip House Democrats into voting for the Democratic agenda. Whether by incompetence or malevolence, these ten votes happened thanks to the efforts of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The most feckless and anti-charismatic congressional leader of my lifetime is one of the primary people to blame for the malaise of party. He was introduced as a new generation in leadership, but he has the same priorities as the gerontocratic Democrats who love losing, yet he contains a scintilla of the competence of his predecessor Nancy Pelosi. There is perhaps no bigger marker of how unserious a group of people the Democrats are than electing this manifestly uninspiring boob as their leader.

Joining these eleven swing Republican votes in the House is newest right-wing podcast bro and future Turning Point USA personality, Gavin Newsom. The “Democratic” governor of California is ramping up his 2028 presidential run, and he’s beginning it by joining the GOP’s cretinous assault on transgender people. Anyone who says “I completely agree with you on that” to Charlie Kirk is a Republican. Anyone who marries a Fox News host who also dated the Republican president’s son has little benefit of the doubt in fighting that personal charge. Newsom is disqualified from the 2028 presidential race now. He’s just another braindead Democrat who wishes this party was more to the right so it wouldn’t have to answer to the majority of self-described liberals and lefties who comprise its base they so clearly despise.

The divide in the Democratic Party is no longer ideological, it’s elemental. Are you fighting against the wide-scale destruction of American democracy, or are you enabling it? These are the only sides in American politics right now, and to give you an idea of how much things have changed on the left, Iraq War enabler Bill Kristol is on the right side of history and defending transgender people, standing opposed to these supposed Democrats like trans panic enabler Gavin Newsom. Politicians like Gavin Newsom functionally have declared themselves to be on the MAGA side of the divide, and we should treat them like any of Trump’s other allies, especially the Democrats like Jim Himes in safe districts. Insulated representatives like him choose to be Republicans in a time of crisis for no reason other than this is what they must believe, and the only solution is to vote them out of office for someone at minimum like Bill Kristol who will fight back. If these “Democrats” want to serve in public life again in future election cycles, we must let them know that they can run as the Republicans they so desperately want to be.
