Donald Trump Says It's 'Ridiculous' to Think Misconduct Allegation Could Tank Brett Kavanaugh
Donald Trump isn’t going to let a little thing like an allegation of attempted sexual assault get in the way of his pick for the Supreme Court, conservative Brett Kavanaugh.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, Trump called Kavanaugh “somebody very special” who “never even had a little blemish on his record.”

“I wish the Democrats could have done this a lot sooner,” Trump said. “But with all of that being said, we want to go through the process.”
Asked whether he has second thoughts about Kavanaugh, Trump told the press pool that he wants to push ahead with the nomination, adding, “If it takes a little delay, it’ll take a little delay.”“I’m sure it will work out very well,” Trump continued, which makes a lot of sense coming from someone who was repeatedly accused of sexual misconduct and still managed to get himself elected president.
Trump noted he has not personally spoken with Kavanaugh since California professor Christine Blasey Ford came forward with her allegations. When asked whether Kavanaugh had offered to withdraw his nomination, Trump responded simply: “What a ridiculous question.”
