Kim Jong Un Responds To Trump's UN Speech By Calling Him a Senile Old Man and, Uh, Show Me the Lie
Welcome to WHAT NOW, a morning round-up of the news/fresh horrors that await you today.
After President Donald Trump used his first address before the United Nations to threaten to “totally destroy” North Korea and called its dictator “rocket man,” Kim Jong Un responded in a rare statement to Trump on Friday, calling the president a “mentally deranged U.S. dotard.” (A dotard is an old, senile person.)
“A frightened dog barks louder,” Kim said in the remarks, which were televised on North Korean state television on Friday morning. “I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire.”
The North Korean leader, who has perpetrated widespread human rights violations under his totalitarian regime and probably ordered his half-brother’s killing in February, also called Trump “a rogue and a gangster fond of playing with fire, rather than a politician” and threatened to take action to retaliate for Trump’s remarks before the General Assembly, where he called Kim a “rocket man on a suicide mission.”
“Action is the best option in treating the dotard who, hard of hearing, is uttering only what he wants to say,” Kim said. “Whatever Trump might have expected, he will face results beyond his expectation.”
As Trump himself might say, Kim is a “bad dude” who, perhaps, in calling the president a senile old man, isn’t totally wrong just this once. But what do I know, I’m not a doctor!
