Professors take a page from Jimmy Kimmel's book with Rate My Professor video

Professors at Lehigh University are showing they have a sense of humor about negative Rate My Professor reviews.

Taking a page from Jimmy Kimmel’s book – he regularly asks celebrities to read mean tweets about themselves on camera – the Pennsylvania college recently filmed a group of academics reading stinging comments from the popular review site.

“I would enjoy eating the rectum of a brown exotic Australian toad more than taking his classes,” read one particularly colorful critique directed toward psychology professor Michael Gill.

“Um, I have some colleagues in biology that could maybe arrange that for you,” quips Gill. “So enjoy! Bon apetit!”

Lehigh is not the first school to imitate Kimmel’s style.

Earlier this year, professors at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia participated in a similar video for their school’s paper, and last year, professors at York University in Toronto garnered thousands of hits with their own YouTube posting.

So, be extra creative with your own Rate My Professor musings – you may see them in a YouTube video one day!
