Trump Is Now Using Twitter to Start Wars

President Donald Trump appeared to announce an impending war through Twitter on Wednesday, tweeting directly to Russia that American missiles “will be coming” to Syria following a suspected chemical attack, despite any Russian efforts to shoot them down.

Immediately after threatening this “nice and new and ‘smart’” attack, Trump implored Russia to “stop the arms race?” which is definitely something the Russians will want to do after being told to watch out for a bunch of American missiles.

The early morning threats carry with then an added sense of legitimacy now that ultra-hawkish ghoul John Bolton has begun his work as Trump’s national security advisor.

Trump’s extremely telegraphed warning comes just over one year since the president insisted, “One of the things I think you’ve noticed about me is militarily I don’t like to say where I’m going and what I’m doing.” Those remarks were made just before the United States launched a missile strike on a Syrian airfield in response to another suspected chemical weapons attack.

And because it’s Trump, yes, there’s a tweet, too:

Russia responded on Facebook.

Isn’t 2018 great?
