Where's My Goddamn Tax Cut, Trump

On October 22, President Donald Trump said that his administration was working to pass a 10 percent tax cut for the middle class by the midterm elections. Two days later, he said he wanted a tax cut of “about 10 percent” for “middle income people” by the end of the year, and that “we’re putting in a resolution sometime in the next week or week and a half, two weeks.”

Like almost everything else has been doing over the past few weeks, this is another bullshit campaign promise that reeks of desperation; the Republican House Ways and Means chairman, Kevin Brady, has already started downplaying the chances of yet another gigantic tax cut’s passage before the midterms or even the end of the year.

So we asked the White House directly earlier today: Is this phantom tax cut that he pulled out of his ass, just to plop it on the Facebook newsfeeds of your MAGA-loving aunts and uncles, on track to pass by Election Day?

You probably won’t be shocked to learn that we haven’t gotten an answer yet, but we’re going to keep asking, every day from now until the election, what’s up with this tax cut. Give me that money, Trump. Pretend I’m Exxon Mobil. Let’s get that bread.
