Patrician offspring of the world, rejoice! Your long-awaited Karl Lagerfeld fashion line has finally arrived.
Set to launch in Spring of 2016, the line will produce two collections a year and be infused with the “cool, ironic personality” that Lagerfeld’s rock-n-roll inspired designs are known for. I’m assuming this of course means an abundance of teeny-tiny gloved Karl doppelgängers will be unleashed upon the runway. Because irony.
For the endeavor, Lagerfeld will be teaming up with childrensware powerhouse CWF (Childrens Worldwide Fashion) — a production company with over 50 years experience that prides itself as “having the largest design studio dedicated to kids’ fashions in Europe” and has helped launch the children’s collections of Marc Jacobs, DKNY, Burberry, Chloé, and Boss. With wee luxury as their forte, CWF and Lagerfeld have honed in on markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Korea for the launch, again proving, that if nothing, the man knows his customer base.
And while Lagerfeld once famously remarked that as a man, he doesn’t quite believe in having children, from the looks of things he certainly believes in dressing them (and dressing them well).
