Eric Trump Says Government Shutdown Is a ‘Good Thing For Us’
Eric Trump, drifting somewhere out there in the parallel reality that is Planet Father, believes that Democrats are responsible for the funding impasse that shut down the federal government, and that this is a good thing.
Speaking by phone with his favorite obsequious interviewer, Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, the president’s son proffered the theory that Democrats are so “terrified” by the resounding success of his dad—the “most hard–working person” young Eric has ever met in his life—that they shut down the government to stop Trump’s momentum.
“They obstruct, they distract, they try to place blame, and it’s the worst,” Eric Trump said. “And honestly, I think it’s a good thing for us, judge, because people see through it. People have seen a year that’s incredible, that’s been filled with nothing but the best for our country.”
Eric Trump added that his dad is “working like no one’s ever worked before to bring back this country,” and has “gotten more done in one year than arguably any president in history.”
Ok, Eric.
Ex–judge Pirro, keeping pace with her Hatch Act–violating friend Kellyanne Conway, lobbed the president’s son softballs peppered with insults against Trump critics.
“You know we’ve got this Women’s March,” she said, “you know, somewhat like the march last year, certainly not as large…And you ask some of them what they’re marching about, they don’t know.”
Here’s another gem of a question (emphasis mine): “Do you think that this, you know, the Democrats arguing that they have to make sure that DACA is taken care of over, you know, the damage that’s being done to military families, CHIP, sick children. Do you think the American public sees through this…?”
Yes. They see through it.
