How to plan a breakfast-centric day of meals at McDonald's

McDonald’s is reportedly toying with the idea of offering breakfast all day. Repeat: BREAKFAST ALL DAY. The company recently told CNBC that they’re testing it out.

“We look forward to learning from this test, and it’s premature to speculate on any outcomes,” wrote spokeswoman Terri Hickey in an email. “We’re excited to serve our customers in this area some of McDonald’s great-tasting breakfast sandwiches, hash browns and other favorites all day long.”

Usually McDonald’s stops serving breakfast at 10:30am, so this is big news. BREAKFAST ALL DAY. Here’s how to fully participate in McDonald’s new all-day sausage egg McMuffin fest, which, even though I exclusively enjoy McDonald’s when I’m running through airports, is inevitably what this menu is going to be called in my house.

1. Actual Breakfast

I know there are a lot of options, but if you’re up early enough to need enough sustenance to carry you through until noon, it’s best to stick with a classic. Get the Big Breakfast with Hotcakes and high five yourself for a job well done.

2. Late Breakfast

You can keep this simple by loading up on protein and their criminally hot coffee. Don’t be a hero—have an Egg McMuffin and a side of hashbrowns. Be warned that a standard Egg McMuffin comes with ham, but if you’re a vegetarian you’re probably not going to be within 100 feet of this place.

3. Brunch

Order a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a Coke, and get hashbrowns for the table because it’s classier that way.

4. Lunch

Did you know McDonald’s has a Steak McMuffin? With grilled onions on it? That has lunch written all over it, especially the part about going back to work with onion breath.

5. Dinner

You’ve had a long day. Why not get two Southern style chicken biscuits with a side of cinnamon melts? If it’s after 11am it totally counts as dessert.

6. After a night of drinking

Don’t kid yourself — you need to grease up your guts FAST to prevent nausea and being hungover because that’s just how science works. Grab two or three sausage burritos to cut down the guesswork on how to get a great quantity of food into your face immediately.
