I Guess It's Fine Now for a Politician to Think Weather Is Controlled by Machines Instead of Jews

On Friday, D.C. City Council member Trayon White Sr. posted a video to his Facebook page in which he blamed a sudden snowfall on the Rothschild family and “climate manipulation.”

According to the Washington Post, which first reported on the video, White shot a brief video while driving his car through a flurry of unexpected snow in downtown Washington on Friday afternoon. “Man, it just started snowing out of nowhere this morning, man. Y’all better pay attention to this climate control, man, this climate manipulation,” White said. “And D.C. keep talking about, ‘We a resilient city.’ And that’s a model based off the Rothschilds controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.”

His statements appeared to parrot a relatively fringe conspiracy theory that the Rosthchilds, a Jewish European banking family, are selectively thinning the U.S. population in conjunction with “resilient cities” grants from the Rockefeller Foundation, controlling weather events to damage urban areas and agricultural lands.

Over the weekend, White’s video looped through the outrage and apology circuit. On Sunday night, he recanted after “learning from his colleagues” that pretty much every Rothschild theory is considered in very poor taste and that the Jews do not, in fact, control the weather. He invoked his relationship with the Jewish community, writing that he “never wanted to offend anyone.”

By Monday, politicians and local Jewish groups were issuing tepid statements of forgiveness, suggesting it is totally fine to believe in illuminati-controlled weather machines as long as you leave race and religion out of it.

“I believe he is being truthful when he says he didn’t realize what his statement implied,” a fellow D.C. councilmember told WTOP over the weekend. “It is my sincere hope that my colleague has learned from this experience.”

Jews United For Justice, a group that endorsed White in 2016, said they spoke to White and were looking forward to “working with him towards a deeper understanding of antisemitism.”

White has not indicated who he thinks is currently manning the weather machines.
