8 household products containing the ingredient WHO just said probably causes cancer that you can buy on Amazon right now

On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said the most common weedkiller in America, glyphosate, is “probably carcinogenic,” after performing what it called an “exhaustive” review, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Monsanto, whose Roundup products contain concentrations of the chemical, has attacked WHO’s report and asked for a retraction.

WHO is so far standing by its claim. Past studies have also found links between glyphosate and deteriorating health in humans and animals. Last year Netherlands became the latest country to bann glyphosate for non-commercial uses — Brazil, Sri Lanka and El Salvador also have restrictions on its use. The EPA has said the evidence is inconclusive.

Whatever the case, the ubiquity of glyphosate is unquestionable. Glyphosate products have been sold in the U.S. since 1974, and Roundup has gone on to become the most popular weed killer in the world, according to NPR.

Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Household Products Database lists 25 different products that contain glyphosate, though some of these have been discontinued.

But not all.

We found eight glyphosate-based products you can buy right now on Amazon. Amazon did not respond to a request for comment.
