Fusion Poll: Young Hispanic voters overwhelmingly back same-sex marriage

More than 70 percent of young Hispanics likely to vote say they support same-sex marriage, compared to 54 percent of millennial black voters and 69 percent of young white voters, according to a new Fusion Poll.

Overall, 68 percent of young voters say they back same-sex marriage, and only 28 percent say they’re opposed to it. But there’s sharp divide on the issue between young Democrats and Republicans.

Young Hispanics are also more likely than their their black and white peers to say they have a gay family member or friend.

Overall, 64 percent of young likely voters say they have a friend or family member who is gay, and young women are more likely than their male counterparts to answer in the affirmative.

Overall, 91 percent of young millennials likely to vote in the elections identify as “straight,” according to the Fusion poll.
